A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional and physical support to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. A doula is not a medical provider.

A midwife is a licensed medical professional who is responsible for the medical care of the mother and baby. A doula, provides emotional and physical support to the mother but is not a medical provider.

Supporting your partner during postpartum can be done in several ways. Some strategies include helping with household tasks, taking care of baby, offering emotional support, or by encouraging self care.
Getting fresh air on a walk can help reset emotions. Supporting your partner seeing a therapist and joining postpartum Mommy&Me groups can also be very beneficial.

Signs of labor include regular contractions, changes in the cervix, water breaking, bloody show, and increased vaginal discharge. These signs can indicate that labor is starting, but it’s important to note that every woman’s experience is different. If you have any questions, always call your medical provider.
